Voting for the Rajya Sabha 58 seats will be on March 23. Counting of votes will also be on same day. 58 seats of 16 states are getting vacant in April and May. The last date for filing nominations is March 12. Maximum 10 seats are from UP. More than 58 out of the BJP's 17 MPs, whose tenure is being completed. The BJP will get around 15 seats and keeping the seats in its present. With this, the number of MPs in the Rajya Sabha will be more than 72. The BJP is expected to get the maximum number of 9 seats from UP and 3 from Rajasthan, 2 from Maharashtra, 1-1 seats from Haryana, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand. Despite this, the NDA will remain behind about 20 to 25 seats with a majority in the Rajya Sabha. The NDA currently has 83 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. The term of 12 Congress MPs is also being completed. Congress will get seats from Gujarat and Maharashtra only. It can be a loss of 8 seats.
